Share some of my most cherished childhood memories of growing up in East Oakland during the 1930's. I was the eighth child in a very loving family. Our home was always filled with joy and laughter. Every summer until 1942 we camped along the Stanislaus River. At the age of six, my father passed away. I loved my schools, Jefferson Grammar, Hamilton and Frick Junior High and most of all Fremont High School. World War II drastically changed Oakland and my family forever. Despite disappointments and tragedies, I remember how my mother's pure heart and her faith kept my family strong.

FOCUS of EXTINCT NEVER, DISTINCT FOREVER Almost any African American born before the middle years of the twentieth century has a provocative story to tell; a story which lends itself to a realistic understanding of the relationship between Black and Caucasian citizens of the United States of America. As such EXTINCT NEVER, DISTINCT FOREVER eliminates lamentation, castigation, criticism and prosecution to allow for introspection as each experience suggest deeper insight into the effects of habits and traditions upon race relations in the developing democracy of the U.S. Unlike the novel approach there is an allowance for verification and further exploration.
